she needs carpet tacks
for imagination steps
so she will not trip
when she thinks
from here to there…
she needs paper clips
to sort random need
into categories
as demarcations fade
from use and disrepair…
she needs masking tape
for worn out wishes
that fray and tear
when she shuffles them
in and out of dreams…
she needs due diligence
to guard against neglect
so when her love escapes
against all vigilance
she will have persevered
to keep her soul intact

So immaginative! Beautiful!
So pleased that you think so, Nancy. Very.
I love it! The carpet tacks for imagination steps is brilliant!
Mark, how thoughtful you are to be specific. I appreciate that very much. Smile.
My pleasure! I’ll be honest, it’s one of those lines I wish I’d written myself…I am happily envious of your words. 🙂
Aw, no cause to be, for you are a very fine writer. Smile.
Wonderful words!
I’m pleased you think so, Tamsyn. Smile
I concur with KB, outstanding – I really like the way you move from things which hold on to things, relating them so well to feelings and thoughts. Poignant, but it still made me smile.
I’m pleased you found this in the poem…and smiled. Also, I’m grateful for your readership.
This one is so very, very fine. Thank you, Bonnie, for enriching us so.
From you, dear Ward, this thought is very much appreciated. Very.
